Food hubs are facilitating the aggregation, storage, processing, distribution, and marketing of locally produced food products. According to the USDA, a food hub is 'a centrally located facility with a business management structure facilitating the aggregation, storage, processing, distributions, and/or marketing of locally/regionally produced food products.' The USDA has provided funding and technical assistance to food hubs through its Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program.
