The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat is an international treaty. The Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP) meets every three years. The convention's secretariat is provided by the UN Environment Programme. The convention is supported by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
