Ecosystem-Based Adaptation: A Nature-Driven Approach to Climate

Ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) is an approach to climate change adaptation that focuses on conserving and restoring natural ecosystems to enhance their resilience and reduce the vulnerability of human communities. This approach recognizes that healthy ecosystems provide essential services, such as water filtration, soil conservation, and climate regulation, which are critical for human well-being. Despite these challenges, EbA has been successfully implemented in various parts of the world, including the restoration of mangroves in Southeast Asia and the conservation of mountain ecosystems in Africa.
